INNOVATIVE TRIPLE TRACK COMMERCIAL BIFOLD DOOR HAS INCREDIBLE SPACE SAVING BENEFITS

The Australian Trellis Door Company (ATDC) has pioneered a triple-track commercial bifold door system that achieves major storage space advantages for its customers.

ATDC’s Triple Track Commercial Bifold Door System

Side by Side bifold door for shopfront

Efficient Design for Maximum Retail Frontage

In a recent commercial fitout project for Natalie Marie Jewellery at Avalon in Sydney, Annandale-based interior architect X+O specified an S07-2 side-by-side parallel top track arrangement for ATDC’s commercial bifold door at the front of the retail store. The design intent was to minimise the side stacking depth of the door, providing maximum retail frontage for the client. Read further product information and technical details.

Overcoming Storage Space Limitations Onsite

Once onsite, the project manager, LJW Building, encountered further door storage space limitations, requiring a maximum stack depth of 8% of the shopfront span. To meet this requirement, ATDC installed its bifold door in a triple top track configuration, achieving a door stack of just 450mm over a 5700mm shopfront opening span. This incredible achievement is essential for retailers and commercial businesses aiming to maximise their trading space in high-rent properties.

Seamless Lock-Up and No Floor Track Required

The triple-track system offers seamless lock-up with a series of intermittent up/down locking mechanisms, requiring no floor track or removable mullions. The attached image demonstrates the successful setup of this recent installation.

Available Nationwide and Internationally

ATDC’s commercial bifold doors are available in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane, Canberra, and Adelaide, as well as regional centres across Australia, including Darwin, Townsville, Hobart, Geelong, Newcastle, and the Sunshine and Gold Coast regions. They are also being exported internationally throughout South East Asia, the Asia Pacific, the Pacific Islands, and the UAE.

NEW REQUIREMENT FOR MEDICAL SCRIPTS FOR CODEINE LEADS TO UPSURGE IN BREAK AND ENTERS AND A FOCUS ON PHARMACY SECURITY

Codeine is an opiate and is typically used to treat mild levels of pain and is also used in the treatment of  diarrhoea.  Pharmacy security has become increasingly important as a result of many recent break-ins targeting medicines containing Codeine.

From 1 Feb 2018 new government legislation came into effect requiring all products containing codeine to be sold in pharmacies with a medical script. This affects many well known household brands such as Panadeine and Nurofen Plus for example which now require a doctor’s script.

This decision was made by the Therapeutic Goods Administration on the basis that Codeine is an opioid drug and,as such, can cause opioid tolerance, dependence and even death.

The Australian Trellis Door Company (ATDC), a leading national Australian security door and barrier specialist supplier has recently seen a significant rise in enquiries for its shopfront security doors as a direct result of break and entry into pharmacies across the country.Pharmacy clients are  frequently  commenting  that this is a direct result of the new codeine related legislation making these codeine related products more valuable on the street for re-sale by criminal elements. The sheer number of these enquiries has been noticeable and mainly entail  pharmacists seeking advice on  methods of deterring forced entry through the pharmacy shopfront doors/windows.Typical methods of forced entry include traditional smash and grab attempts but also the more recent ramraiding technique using vehicles.

Pharmacies have traditionally  been a natural target for criminals given the nature of their stock with high value drugs such as pseudoephedrine being a typical example.

ATDC has supplied its shopfront security doors to secure the premises of countless pharmacies across the country having previously been a preferred supplier to the Pharmacy Guild of Australia.See article at www.trellisdoors.com.au/security-doors-for-chemists-and-pharmacies

ATDC’s S06 shopfront security door is compliant with the Australian Standards for Sliding security doors having been tested in an independent NATA laboratory against dynamic impact,anti-jemmy and pull force testing. This security door  is top hung with a full metal frame, secure locking and high tensile strength material. It folds back out of sight when not in use during trading hours and as such is an added bonus to retailers wishing to maximize visual display of merchandise .ATDC has certain innovative side stack storage options to minimize impact on retail space.Refer to ATDC’s website for further information on this unique S06 security door at www.trellisdoors.com.au/product/commercial-security/secuity-screens-and-screen-doors/S06-concertina-security-shutters

Safety Fencing for American Airlines

The Australian Trellis Door Company (ATDC) has recently installed its safety fencing to the departure gate area for American Airlines at Sydney International Airport.

The safety fencing has been installed to restrict access and pedestrian traffic to the departure gate  during specific limited hours of the day.

ATDC has also installed  thousands  of metres of its safety fencing at multiple  locations at both of Sydney’s  international and domestic airports in  many different applications including screening off shopfronts, restricting access to the very wide expanse of area where duty free merchandise is displayed for sale during closing hours, screening off work-safe areas for OH+S purposes, securing customs areas of the airport, access control to areas for screening of carry-on luggage  and other security locations, and securing entry to bonded warehouses for freight. For further applications see article at www.trellisdoors.com.au/expanding-barricades-ikea

The fencing is perfectly suited  for these applications  given that they are mobile, trackless and free standing, they require no headroom nor overhead support and their width is unlimited due to their modular design. They are manufactured from toughened steel sections and have wall mounted and floor mounted  locking options. They are compact and both safe and  easy  to operate running on a series of heavy duty 75mm rubber non marking thermoplastic bottom wheels. The fencing is typically available in standard height modules of either 2020mm or 2520mm although custom heights can be tailored to the needs of any application or project. For further information on ATDC’s safety fencing please refer to ATDC’s website at www.trellisdoors.com.au/products/commercial-security/barriers-and-cafe-barriers

Both steel and aluminium safety fencing are available with the latter more suitable for installation in a highly corrosive marine environment such as coastal locations. The clear anodised and UV-resistant Dulux powdercoated finishes provide the anti-corrosion characteristics of these cutting edge aluminium barriers.www.trellisdoors.com.au/product/commercial-security/barriers-and-cafe-barriers/aluminium-expandable-barriers

ATDC’s safety fencing is OH+S tested and are also independently tested in an approved NATA laboratory against the Australian Standard AS 4687 -2007 Temporary Fencing and Hoardings. They have also been successfully tested  for emergency egress under the BCA.

Counter Top Security Screens With Style

The Australian Trellis Door Company (ATDC) recently completed a successful installation of its attractive curved counter top security screens at the Rydges Sails Resort in Port Macquarie. This installation was part of a multimillion-dollar building refurbishment at this stunning bayside location. The screens were specified to complement the stylish and contemporary design of this iconic waterfront destination.

Successful Installation of Curved Counter Top Security Screens at Rydges Sails Resort

Architectural Excellence and Project Management

The specifying architects for the project were Hamilton Hayes Henderson, with Lipman Pty Ltd serving as the project managers. The S08 curved security screen was the chosen product for this application. Browse further technical information on our S08 Stacking Doors.

Why the S08 Curved Security Screen Was the Ideal Choice

The curved security screen was the ideal product for this application given that the counter top had virtually no available headroom to install overhead screens. Additionally, the need to accommodate a tight curved radius made the S08 curved security screen the product of choice since it is capable of achieving tight turns of 90 degrees over a 600mm radius.

Seamless Lock-Up and Easy Operation

Through the use of multiple intermediate up/down locking mechanisms along the span of the opening, a seamless lock-up capability was achieved without the need for utilising any floor tracking to secure the system in its locked position. For more details, see a recent article on ATDC’s curved screens at Kooringal Golf Club.

Heavy-duty industrial-grade top wheels with metal bearings and heavy-duty top hangars ensure a low-friction, smooth, and easy operation of the screens, assisting in retaining the longevity and functional integrity of the door. See a further recent article on our installation at a Healthcare Facility in Sydney.

Custom Finishes and Wide Availability

While the standard stock finishes for this screen are either a black satin or pearl white powdercoat, the special powdercoated finish for this project, as nominated by the architects, was a high-gloss Dulux Venerable Silver.

Smart Folding Doors Rev up Ferrari Showroom

The Australian Trellis Door Company (ATDC) has recently installed its high end folding doors at the Ferrari Showroom at Star City Casino, Sydney.

The job description was essentially to protect the high value merchandise with  a smart, elegant, corporate looking folding door system which would complement the prestigious Ferrari brand image without costing a fortune.

The technical requirements demanded a closure that could span a multi-curved 44 metre wide retail frontage at 3m in height which folded back to occupy a minimum amount of storage space when unlocked and opened during trading hours. And further to provide maximum visual display of the Ferraris during the limited times the shop remains closed.

ATDC’s FC1 wide panel folding door easily satisfied and even surpassed  all these requirements.  The 300mm wide panel door was installed with its  heavy duty top track , heavy duty industrial grade top roller wheels and interlocking heavy duty hinges  providing a low friction, easy operation despite the expansive size of the door.  And by utilizing multiple intermediate keyed alike up/down locking mechanisms a seamless lock up is achieved without the need for any cumbersome removable mullions nor any floor tracking.  For further information on this product see an article at www.trellisdoors.com.au/fw-spectacular-commercial-security-screens-kooringal-golf-club

The folding doors at the Ferrari showroom are finished in a professional natural anodised finish which is standard for these doors although a full range of powdercoated options are available on request from the Dulux Range of powdercoated finishes.  For further information on this product see ATDC website at www.trellisdoors.com.au/products/commercial-security/folding-doors-and-shop-doors

ATDC’s folding doors are now sold in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, Canberra as well as all regional Australian towns such as Newcastle, Geelong, Townsville, Darwin and Hobart.  They are also exported to South East Asia, the Asia Pacific, the Pacific Islands and the UAE.

Premium grade portable barriers Installed at Wolfgang Puck’s restaurant at LAX

Premium grade portable barriers have been installed at Wolfgang Puck’s restaurant at LAX International Airport in Los Angeles.

Portable Barriers – Premium Grade

Wolfgang Puck is an Austrian Born-American and is an internationally renowned celebrity chef, award winning restaurateur, newspaper columnist, famous television personality, part time actor and philanthropist. His group’s activities also include catering services, cookbooks and premium grade licensed products.

The portable barriers installed at Wolfgang Puck’s LAX restaurant are mobile and trackless and have been configured in a multi-angled shape to accommodate the unique contours of the storefront. Being trackless and free standing, these portable barriers require no headroom at all which is normally a necessity for overhead door systems and they require no overhead support structure making them easy and economical to install since no structural bulkheads are required. Available in standard heights of 2020mm or 2520mm (or available in custom made heights as required), the span of these portable barriers is unlimited due to their unique semi-modular design and thereby the need for heavy, unsafe and unwieldy removable mullions is avoided making it easy and safe for staff to operate. The portable barriers are able to  blend in with the aesthetics of the storefront with  their sharp precision angled lines and high quality gloss powdercoated finish (standard finishes are either a black satin or a pearl white although any finish in the dulux Australian powdercoat range is available as an extra over option).

The Manufacturing Process

Manufactured from precision engineered high tensile steel sections and with both wall mounted and floor mounted  locking options, these portable barriers are compact, sturdy and formidable yet are very easy  to operate running on a series of low friction  heavy duty 75mm bottom thermoplastic rubber non marking bottom castors. Both steel and aluminium portable barriers are available with the latter more suitable for installation in a highly corrosive marine environment such as coastal, beachside or riverfront locations. The natural anodised and UV-resistant powdercoated finishes provide the extra anti-corrosion qualities of these quality aluminium barriers.

Tested and Approved

OH+S tested under the Australian legislation for safety and with a detailed, written and independently audited WHS Risk Assessment, The Australian Trellis Door Company’s (ATDC) portable barriers are stand out leaders in the field and are also independently tested in an approved NATA laboratory  for dynamic impact, simulated climbing and wind force overturn conditions under the Australian Standard AS 4687 -2007 Temporary Fencing and Hoardings. Further testing has been successfully completed for emergency egress under the Building Code of Australia where required.

ATDC’s portable barriers are also available in a double diamond lattice pattern with the steel mesh tightly interwoven resulting in the pitch between the metal cross linkages at a mere 65mm to 70mm. This prevents people putting their hands through the mesh to reach merchandise on the other side of the barrier making the portable barriers an extremely effective loss prevention aide.

Security for Retailers

Suitable applications for ATDC’s portable barriers include achieving temporary security for pop-up stores, kiosks and other temporary retail tenancies, access control for shopping centres and public buildings (such as railway stations and passenger terminals for instance at airports, ferry stations, bus terminals), Worksafe applications such as construction sites, sports stadiums, public events, entertainment venues, securing of warehouses and loading docks. ATDC’s portable barriers are also available for hire on a long, medium term or short term basis.

Expandable Security Barriers

Kathmandu, which is listed on both the Australian and New Zealand stock exchanges and has over 137 stores in the UK, Australia and New Zealand, is a leading retailer of popular travel and outdoor clothing, equipment and accessories. ATDC’s expandable security barriers are fabricated from hardened steel and, with their multi-point locking options they provide an excellent deterrent against break-ins and hence they are an effective loss prevention tool.

These expandable security barriers are flexible and mobile, trackless and free standing, and are available in standard heights of either 2020mm or 2520mm. Tested against the rigid Australian Standards for Temporary Fencing and Hoarding and with an independently audited WHS certification for safety, these technologically advanced  barriers are stand out leaders in the industry.  ATDC‘s barriers also offer innovative emergency egress locking options under the BCA where required.

Security for Tenancies

As in the case of Kathmandu, the expandable security barriers are not only useful to secure permanent and temporary tenancies but can also be used to provide access control to government and public buildings, shopping centres, warehouses and loading docks and can be used for innumerable worksafe applications. Fabricated on a series of non-marking heavy duty bottom castors, the barriers are light and easy to operate and can be installed in multiple locations within the same building making them a cost effective security option.

Both steel and aluminium expandable security barriers are available depending on the application and they can be purchased outright or can be hired on either a long term or short term basis. In the latter case ATDC provides a drop off and pick up service both during and after hours.
