The Australian Trellis Door Company (ATDC) has been installing its market-leading S06 expandable security shutters to secure IGA stores across Australia. These installations have been highly effective in providing robust security while maintaining an inviting store appearance during trading hours.
Market-Leading Security Solutions for IGA Stores
Robust and Discreet Security Shutters
ATDC’s S06 expandable security shutters are selected for their robustness and the fact they retract neatly out of sight when not in use. This feature ensures that the store entrances remain unobstructed and aesthetically pleasing during trading hours. The S06 shutters offer a dual advantage: they provide strong security when locked at night while allowing customers to see into the stores. This visibility helps maintain an inviting storefront even after hours, enhancing the customer experience and deterring potential break-ins.
Fully Framed and Secure
The S06 security shutters are fully framed with triple contact locking mechanisms, offering enhanced security for IGA stores. These locking mechanisms ensure that the shutters are firmly secured in place, providing a formidable barrier against unauthorised access. This level of security is crucial for protecting the valuable goods inside the stores and giving store owners peace of mind.
Customisable Finishes
Available in standard black satin and pearl white powdercoat finishes, the S06 shutters can also be customised with special colours at a premium. This customisation allows store owners to choose a finish that best complements their store’s aesthetic, ensuring that the security solutions blend seamlessly with the overall design of the storefront.
Ideal for Retail Security
ATDC’s S06 expandable security shutters are ideal for retail environments like IGA stores. They offer a perfect balance between security and accessibility, making them a preferred choice for retail security. These shutters provide the necessary protection without compromising the visual appeal of the store, ensuring a customer-friendly environment during trading hours.

Case Study:
ATDC recently completed an installation at the newly opened KFC store at Cameron Park, NSW. Project managers were Warriewood-based Aspect Design & Development.
The shutter is slotted for ventilation and the slots are secured by a perforated mesh infill. In hospitality spaces including fast food, health and safety requirements include high standards for hygiene in Australia. Therefore shutters need to be functional for security, food hygiene, and aesthetics.
ATDC has just launched its new Security Roller Grille and has successfully installed a series of these grilles to the canteen to the mess area on HMAS Cresswell.
Able to span a maximum width of 5500mm in one section with its motorized option, this product is fabricated from heavy duty extruded aluminium sections and is available in a clear anodised or powdercoated finish.
Whilst suitable for use on shops, shopping centres, banks, hotels, food service areas and arcades, it is also suitable to secure reception counters and serveries, factory showrooms and warehouses. Both through visibility and ventilation are primary advantages of this security roller grille.
Project managers for the installation at HMAS Creswell were WA based Duratec Australia.

ATDC specializes in security doors that retract sideways and security shutters that roll upwards. In each case optimum security is provided overnight when the premises are locked and closed however during trading hours the barriers fold out of the way completely (either upwards or sideways) to present an unobstructed customer friendly business. Different locking mechanisms are available across ATDC’s range. Electric operated options are available on request.

ATDC’s recent installation of 100 lineal metres of portable crowd control barriers for Westpoint Growers had potential hazards that had to be overcome prior to any works being carried out.
Overcoming Potential Hazards: ATDC’s Installation at Westpoint Growers
ATDC’s recent installation of 100 lineal metres of portable crowd control barriers for Westpoint Growers presented unique challenges that required careful planning and execution to ensure safety and success.
Hazard Assessment and Precautionary Measures
Upon receiving instructions from management at the QIC-owned Westpoint Blacktown, ATDC took proactive steps to address potential hazards associated with the installation process.
One such hazard involved the presence of reinforcing steel (Reo) or conduit beneath the concrete floor surface, posing a risk during drilling activities required for stabilising and securing the barrier installation with shootbolt locks.
Comprehensive Hazard Mitigation Strategy
To mitigate these risks, ATDC collaborated with an external contractor to conduct a thorough scan below the concrete floor surface. This scan aimed to identify and mark out positive locations where drilling could be safely performed without encountering hazardous obstructions.
This meticulous planning ensured that ATDC’s installers could navigate the floor drilling process with precision, avoiding potential hazards and safeguarding the integrity of the installation.
Commitment to Workplace Health and Safety
ATDC’s proactive approach to hazard assessment and mitigation exemplifies our commitment to workplace health and safety. By prioritising attention to detail and quality, we demonstrate our dedication to ensuring a safe working environment for installers and clients alike.
This commitment underscores ATDC’s reputation as a market leader in the provision of portable crowd control barriers and other security solutions.

ATDC Installation at Kurunjang Early Learning Centre
High-Quality Aluminium Gates
This lightweight biparting gate is secured at each end to heavy-duty extruded aluminium RHS posts embedded in solid concrete footings for extra stability. This design is not only space-efficient but also ensures smooth and reliable operation.
Durable and Corrosion-Resistant
The all-aluminium system boasts world-class anti-corrosion qualities, making it ideal for installations exposed to the elements. This feature is particularly important given the gates are installed out in the open, ensuring long-term durability and minimal maintenance requirements.

An interesting trend is the widespread proliferation of barber shops across Australia which are appearing not only in the major shopping centres but also in neighbourhood centres, strip malls and stand alone stores.
ATDC has seen a surge in demand for its popular security doors and shutters not only for these barber shops but also for hairdressing salons and Beauty Salons. The major reasons for the popularity is the appeal of ATDC’s heritage looking old style security doors and shutters which retract sideways out of the way when not in use so as to be almost totally invisible. These doors enhance the older style look and feel of these outlets.
