ATDC’s Security gates are unique and are now available for sale in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide and Brisbane.
ATDC’s installation for the new Scooter Hut store opening in Balcatta,WA, near Perth highlights the effectiveness of these security gates’ ability to span very large openings and their ability to slide back to an extremely compact storage area making them virtually invisible when unlocked and opened. This feature maximimizes the visual display of merchandise to the public and presents a much more customer friendly retail environment as compared to permanent fixed security systems.

The Australian Trellis Door Company (ATDC) has recently completed an installation of its commercial grade expanding security doors to the historic Capitol Theatre at Melbourne’s Swanston Street.
The RMIT owned heritage listed theatre, part of the Capitol House building originally designed by Walter Burley Griffin and his wide Marion in ornate Chicago-gothic style, has recently undergone a $40million refurbishment. The specifying architect was Melbourne based Six Degrees Architects and the project managers were Hutchinson Builders.
ATDC’s S04 trackless expanding security doors were installed to the bar areas on two different levels of the building. When unlocked and opened these doors fold and stack back to a minimal storage size of just 12% of the opening width being secured thus making them an attractive option to specifying architects and developers alike. Further information on ATDC’s S04 system can be found at https://www.trellisdoors.com.au/product/commercial-security/security-screens-and-screen-doors/commercial-doors-s04
The Australian Trellis Door Company (ATDC) has pioneered a triple-track commercial bifold door system that achieves major storage space advantages for its customers.
ATDC’s Triple Track Commercial Bifold Door System
Efficient Design for Maximum Retail Frontage
In a recent commercial fitout project for Natalie Marie Jewellery at Avalon in Sydney, Annandale-based interior architect X+O specified an S07-2 side-by-side parallel top track arrangement for ATDC’s commercial bifold door at the front of the retail store. The design intent was to minimise the side stacking depth of the door, providing maximum retail frontage for the client. Read further product information and technical details.
Overcoming Storage Space Limitations Onsite
Once onsite, the project manager, LJW Building, encountered further door storage space limitations, requiring a maximum stack depth of 8% of the shopfront span. To meet this requirement, ATDC installed its bifold door in a triple top track configuration, achieving a door stack of just 450mm over a 5700mm shopfront opening span. This incredible achievement is essential for retailers and commercial businesses aiming to maximise their trading space in high-rent properties.
Seamless Lock-Up and No Floor Track Required
The triple-track system offers seamless lock-up with a series of intermittent up/down locking mechanisms, requiring no floor track or removable mullions. The attached image demonstrates the successful setup of this recent installation.

ATDC’s commercial bifold doors are available in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane, Canberra, and Adelaide, as well as regional centres across Australia, including Darwin, Townsville, Hobart, Geelong, Newcastle, and the Sunshine and Gold Coast regions.
