ATDC has recently installed its movable security barriers to secure this Flight Centre tenancy in Townsville, QLD.
With only a limited period left on Flight Centre’s current lease and with its existing overhead doors non operational, ATDC’s movable security barriers were the lock up ideal solution since they could be installed quickly and at relatively low cost .As the barriers are trackless there was no need to secure the full height of the shopfront. Being movable they are able to be stored back of house and so no expensive modifications to the storefront were required to facilitate this installation.
These relatively inexpensive movable security barriers have become a popular lock up solution for retailers in the tough current trading environment .Furthermore they are also available for hire or rental for short, medium or long term leases.

The Australian Trellis Door Company (ATDC) has installed its pedestrian crowd control barriers for access control at Olympic Park Railway Station in the Sydney suburb of Homebush.
Enhancing Access Control: ATDC’s Installation at Olympic Park Railway Station
The Australian Trellis Door Company (ATDC) recently installed its pedestrian crowd control barriers for access control at Olympic Park Railway Station located in the Sydney suburb of Homebush.
Managed by Leichhardt-based Ultra Building Works Pty Ltd, this installation highlights ATDC’s commitment to providing effective access control solutions for high-traffic environments.
Tailored Solutions for Railway Stations
Installed at the top of an access stairwell on the main railway platform, ATDC’s barriers play a crucial role in access control, preventing unauthorised entry after hours and regulating human traffic flow during peak periods.
These barriers are specifically designed and OH&S tested for safe operation, addressing vital safety concerns in locations with high volumes of pedestrian foot traffic.
Specialised Features for Safety and Security
ATDC’s pedestrian barriers offer a range of special features to enhance safety and security. They can be fitted with keyless locking mechanisms for quick egress in emergency situations, ensuring swift evacuation if needed.
Additionally, where specified, the barriers can feature a double diamond mesh infill, preventing individuals from gaining footholds and attempting to climb over the barriers, further enhancing safety measures.
Demonstrated Success in High-Profile Projects
The effectiveness and reliability of ATDC’s pedestrian barriers have made them the gates of choice for numerous high-profile government projects and public infrastructure projects across Australia.
Notably, ATDC’s barriers were successfully deployed at Sydney’s Barangaroo Ferry Terminal, underscoring their suitability for critical transportation hubs and public spaces. For further information on this project refer to the project page.

A major expansion of railway stations in both Sydney and Melbourne has resulted in a mushrooming of valuable new retail floor space.
The Australian Trellis Door Company (ATDC)’s industry leading crowd control barriers are the go-to product for securing retail space in these transit hubs — whether for airports, railway stations or hospital-retail storefronts.
ATDC Barriers Trusted for Major Spaces Across Sydney and Melbourne
In Sydney, major train station expansions at Wynyard, Central, Barrangaroo and the Northwest Metro Line are typical examples of this fairly recent phenomenon.(See article by Carolyn Cummins.) Similarly, airports and hospitals (transit hubs with a captive market) are proving to be the new frontier for retailers.
ATDC’s crowd control barriers are safe and easy to operate, having been tested against the relevant OH+S legislation and NATA tested against the Australian Standards for Temporary Fencing and Hoarding. This includes dynamic impact testing and simulated climbing.
Amenities for Modern Businesses
These crowd control barriers are trackless, portable and flexible. Since they are modular, they can span unlimited width apertures (at any angle) without the need for any removable mullions.
Available in standard heights, they run on a series of heavy-duty non-marking thermoplastic bottom castors and have numerous wall-mounted and floor-fixed locking options.
ATDC is Trusted Worldwide
ATDC’s crowd control gates are now sold in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth and Canberra, as well as in all regional towns across the country including Newcastle, Geelong, Townsville, and the Sunshine and Gold Coast regions.
In addition, they are exported throughout the Asia Pacific, South East Asia, the Pacific Islands and the UAE.
